hero ingredient #1

Althaea Officinalis

Marshmallow (Althaea Officinalis) root is used in modern herbal medicine to relieve sore throat, but it also relieves anal inflammation caused by severe diarrhea. The root is a powerful demulcent and is quite soothing to the digestive tract. Marshmallow root also has external use in relieving symptoms of varicose veins, ulcers, abscesses, and boils. Try pairing with comfrey for ulcers, and licorice and horehound when dealing with bronchitis.

hero ingredient #2

Limnanthes Alba

Meadowfoam (Limnanthes alba) is a wildflower native to the Pacific Northwest, named for the creamy white blooms that cover a field like sea foam. Its seed oil was first cultivated in the 1970s as a plant-based replacement for sperm whale oil. The oil is remarkably stable and resists going rancid far longer than most plant oils. On the skin it is a light, silky emollient that softens and holds in moisture without a greasy feel. Try pairing with shea butter for richness, and squalane for a lighter finish.
